UPDATE: April 9, 4:57 ET.

Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports Marshall will be attending a four-day event at the Harvard Business School in May called “The Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports.”

It would appear Marshall is going to Harvard, if only for an industry seminar. Congrats, sir.

UPDATE: April 9, 4:35 ET.

After reaching out to Harvard, I’ve been able to confirm the email address shown in Marshall’s Instagram picture is the same as the address of the admission branch of Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program.

This adds more weight to the idea, but doesn’t confirm whether or not Marshall applied in the first place or received the email out of the blue. We’re still waiting to hear back from his agent regarding the situation. We’ll update as soon as we know.

Brandon Marshall is a deep threat and a baller cum laude, but is he a Harvard man?

The Chicago Bears wideout posted a picture to his Instagram account on Tuesday night showing an acceptance email from what may or may not be the Harvard School of Business. Greg Smith of BlackSportsOnline.com spotted the image.

Is it real? Fake? We cannot know for sure.

“Harvard? #HBS #trailblazers,” Marshall wrote in his picture caption.

What we do know is the email address “exed_admissions@hbs.edu” isn’t the official admissions email for the Harvard Business School. “Exed” is the terminology the school uses for its Executive Education program. This program includes classes for “leadership development” and focuses on “accelerating the careers of high-potential leaders.”

This could be a real email from the “Exed” program, or it could be a phishing scam or joke on Marshall’s part. It’s not crazy to think the 30-year-old wideout could be looking ahead to life after football. He remains a dominant receiver, but as Matt Elam proved earlier this year, there’s no harm in planning for the future.

Marshall doesn’t have a background in business, however. He played his college ball at the University of Central Florida and is listed on UCFKnights.com as having been a Liberal Studies major

Perhaps the 6’4” wideout is just preparing to enter the fashion industry with an affordable clothing line for large men.

“Marshall’s: Big, Tall and On the Ball.”
