Maclin was limited in practice on Friday after being held out on Thursday, per Paylor.

Maclin Is One of Few Weapons in Chiefs Offense

Maclin enjoyed a strong first season in Kansas City last year. He racked up 87 catches for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns to reinvigorate a dormant Chiefs passing attack. The team hopes that trend continues for the duration of his contract, which runs through 2019, according to Spotrac.

The 28-year-old Missouri product has been durable throughout his career. He appeared in 90 of a possible 96 regular-season games across his first six seasons. The wideout did miss one game during the 2015 campaign due to a concussion. He also battled a high-ankle sprain during the playoffs.

If he’s forced to miss meaningful action, Chris Conley figures to take on the top receiver role, though tight end Travis Kelce will serve as the main target. Albert Wilson, Tyreek Hill and Demarcus Robinson could also see targets.

Maclin is an important piece for a Chiefs squad that features a limited number of weapons in the passing game. Any type of extended injury setback would significantly hurt the offense’s upside.
