Jay Cutler: Why the Jeff George Comparisons Need To Stop

Is Jay Cutler a reincarnation of Jeff George? Uh…no. Jay Cutler is not as good (or as bad) as Jeff George.

A lot of people say that Jeff George was a bust, but you look at his stats and they are not descriptive of someone you would call a bust.

During George’s career he was knock down a lot. Why? Because his offensive line thought of Jeff George like a lot of people think of Dick Cheney.  George was one of the best passers I’ve ever seen, but because his attitude was no were near as good as his spiral, he bounced around the league.

Cutler is a punk. But to call him Jeff George is going way too far. To even put Cutler and George in the same category is insane.  The Bears O-line isn’t protecting Cutler, not because they feel that Cutler needs to taste green. It’s because they are not very good.

Cutler is getting the wind and confidence knocked out of him, and it causes him to make bad decisions.

Cutler is also has limited talent at the wide receiver position which doesn’t exactly help the cause.

Cutler is not a bust. In 2008, Cutler threw for over 4,500 yards and made the Pro Bowl and now, when he has a below average receiving corps and a terrible O-line, he is a bust? C’mon man!

Kyle Orton started for Chicago at one time and he sucked. Cutler, while he was in Denver, was John Elway.

Both quarterbacks switch places and then Cutler is a bust, and Kyle Orton is John Elway?

A carpenter needs tools, and when that carpenter has tools he can make just about anything. When an carpenter doesn’t have the tools he needs, he is just as a good as a pencil with no lead.
