Chicago Bears Not Surprised by Ndamukong Suh’s Latest Dirty Play

When the Bears played the Lions, Ndamukong Suh ripped off Jay Cutler‘s helmet.

After the game, Bears head coach Lovie Smith said, “I guess it’s safe to say you shouldn’t do that. I’ll leave it at that.”

Suh was unfazed by Smith’s response, saying, “That’s funny. I can really only just laugh at that.”

Think he’s still laughing?

Because this week, in a prime-time matchup on Thanksgiving Day against Green Bay, he pushed Packers guard Evan Dietrich-Smith’s head into the ground three times.

Then stomped on him.

Suh was ejected from the game and is likely to receive a fine, and possibly a suspension, from the NFL.

In less than two years he’s already accrued $42,500 in fines. And just over a week ago, Suh insisted his actions weren’t illegal or dirty, saying, “The way I’m playing is more aggressive, more physical. I’m not stopping the way I’m playing.”

He hasn’t.

Even after meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Suh came away saying he “agreed to disagree” about what was legal on a football field.

I’m going to assume Goodell did not “agree to disagree” and what really happened is that Suh didn’t understand the purpose of the meeting.

Because it would explain how Suh responded to the latest evidence he’s a dirty player (see video).

“I am only apologizing to my teammates, coaches and my true fans for allowing the referee to have the opportunity to take me out of the game,” said Suh.

Really?

Call me skeptical, but that’s not an apology. Or an admission of guilt.

Sounds like he wishes he’d pushed the ref’s head into the ground three times and stomped on him, too.

One former teammate calls him delusional.

Bears cornerback Zack Bowman, and another teammate of Ndamukong’s at Nebraska, said, “To be honest with you, he probably just got caught up in the emotions and caught up in the act.”

And when told about the incident, Lovie Smith would only say, “I’m sure the league will have something to say about that.”

Seems the Bears aren’t surprised.

Is anyone?
