Chicago Bears Fans Shouldn’t Be Happy About the Green Bay Packers’ Loss

Chicago Bears fans were dancing in the streets on Sunday when the New York Giants upset the Green Bay Packers, but if they used their heads instead of their hearts, they wouldn’t be thinking that way.

Growing up in Chicago—starting at birth—fans are taught to hate the Packers. Don’t ask me why; that’s just the way it is.

In reality, the Packers’ loss was the worst thing that could have happened for Bears fans.

It would have been much better for fans of the team if the Packers had won on Sunday, and went on to win a second consecutive Super Bowl.

Sure, they would be celebrating while we’re drowning our sorrows in a Bud, but the Packers are all they have.

Would you want to live in a backwater town like Green Bay, or a cosmopolitan city like Chicago?

Aside from the differences in the two cities, the main reason Bears fans should have been pulling with everything they had for Green Bay is because another Super Bowl would have made the Packers fat and happy.

They would have gone on the banquet circuit in the offseason, eating rubber chicken and feeling really good about themselves.

Instead, they’re going home angry. They’re bitching at the wife and kicking the dog, because they don’t have an opponent to kick around until next fall.

The entire offseason they will be steaming—thinking of what might have been.

They only lost one regular-season game, so if not for that hiccup, they could have been trying to usurp the 1972 Miami Dolphins and their unblemished record.

Instead of making history and being the first back-to-back champions since the New England Patriots, they go home as losers. They won as many playoff games as the Bears did this year.

The season meant nothing!

Now, next year means everything. If you think the Packers were good this year, just wait.

They’ll be out for revenge and will chew up and spit out anything that gets in their way.

You want to let sleeping dogs lie. Now the Pack is that abused junkyard dog who is going to attack anyone dumb enough to cross their path.

They’ll be out for revenge, and that’s not good for the Bears.

Would you rather go up against a fat cat, or a hungry pit bull?

So rejoice now Bears fans, because you will be crying next year.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you in advance.
