The Chicago Bears head into next season hoping to rebound from the last year’s late-season collapse. They spent the early part of free agency addressing several glaring needs, including adding a backup quarterback and No. 1 wide receiver.

A healthy Jay Cutler will be the catalyst for this team’s success, but with Jason Campbell in the mix, Chicago could survive a minor Cutler injury.  However, for this team to reach their goals, Cutler and Brandon Marshall must quickly gel.

The offensive side of the ball shouldn’t be an issue, as I’m expecting to see Cutler, Marshall, Matt Forte, Michael Bush and Earl Bennett all have big years. However, the defense could be a different story. The defensive stars are quickly aging, with Brian Urlacher, Julius Peppers, Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs all over the age of 31.

This upcoming season might actually be the first year in awhile that the Bears offense outperforms the defense.
