While looking at the assignment sheet for the CBS NFL Correspondent position, I realized that I needed to come up with questions that I would ask to a current player on the team I want to cover.

I was looking over the roster when I realized that the most interesting interview wouldn’t be Jay Cutler, Devin Hester, or Brian Urlacher, although those would all be great, but a former Bear.

Rex Grossman has gone through than any other Bear in the past decade, and despite the awful things attached to his name, he still was the starter at the most important position on the field for a team that went to the Super Bowl, and he was an MVP candidate for part of that season.

So, without further ado, here are 10 questions that I would love to ask embattled former Chicago Bears quarterback Rex Grossman.

When you returned as the starter for the Bears against the Atlanta Falcons in 2005, what was going through your mind as the fans anointed you as the savior of the franchise?

Throughout most of the first half of the 2006 and 2007 season, you were looked at as a potential MVP and a lock for the Pro Bowl, what changed as the season went on?

Despite all of the criticism, you still battled through and took the Bears to the Super Bowl that season. What was the main thing that you grabbed on to that allowed you to push through the criticism and still take the team to the Super Bowl?

Who were the players that you associated with in the club house and that helped you through the next season, when you got benched?

You’ve been in the spotlight throughout most of you football career, from college where you were at the prestigious University of Florida to the pros, where you started in the Super Bowl. Has all of the publicity changed you at all?

Have all of the negative things said about you from the Chicago Bears fan-base, as well as members of the media, put a damper on your time in Chicago?

With all of the rumors about you going to the UFL, has there been any serious consideration of changing leagues?

What is one thing that you would like prospective NFL teams to know about you?

Early in your career, your ability to elude defenders to keep the play going was a large part of your gunslinger mentality and drew some comparisons to Brett Favre; since 2004, however, you haven’t been as much of a scrambler, have you been working towards bringing that part of your game back to the field?

If you could pick one team to play for next season, what team would it be?
