Former Chicago Bear Mike Brown Takes a Visit To Arizona Cardinals

Former Bears safety Mike Brown played his first season as a member of a different team last year, the Kansas City Chiefs. This year he has found himself team-less.

He visited the Arizona Cardinals along with former Steelers guard Kendall Simmons. Brown is from Scottsdale, Ariz. and last season he played in all 16 games with the Chiefs. That was the first time he stayed healthy for a full season since 2003. He made 103 tackles and three interceptions last season.

Mike Brown is still a solid player, but the Cardinals have Kerry Rhodes, Adrian Wilson, and Matt Ware on their roster. Brown, 32, was dumped by the Bears during the 2009 offseason because he couldn’t keep up with the fast receivers. Basically, he’s lost a step or two. He should find a team, I just don’t see him being starter-quality anymore.

I wouldn’t mind the Bears adding him for insurance, but I don’t see them picking him up. I know when he retires he will be a very good coach.

Good luck Mike Brown, wherever you go.
