The Chicago Bears have acquired safety Chris Harris from the Carolina Panthers.

The trade is believed to be in the final stages.

From Chris Harris’ official Twitter account (@ChrisHarrisNFL) “Breaking News- I will be traded to Chicago Bears. Carolina you have been great and deeply missed.”

The Bears are likely to be giving up a linebacker and a possible draft pick. Jamar Williams and Hunter Hillenmeyer are the likely candidates to be in this deal.

Harris played a couple seasons with the Bears and was traded in 2007. Harris will be an upgrade for the Bears defense, which struggled all last season.
